*Saint or Sinner?

Hello everyone!

The other week I was lucky enough to come home to a fabulous package from Kat Von D Beauty & Influenster.

Her Saint & Sinner Fragrances that after being off the market for 8 years have been re released  in completely redesigned bottles that Kat herself spent months hand sketching! The bottles are stunning and would look perfect on any vanity. The bottles I received however aren't full size so I have no photo of the actual bottle design but you can head here to see it.

As much as I wanted to be a sinner, I have to say I lean more towards the notes included in Saint.

A light, dreamy floral musk. I love floral scents but I know many people can't stand them so buyer beware. Saint includes top notes of Jasmine & Tiare Flower while the base notes including vanilla, musk & sandalwood create the romantic and alluring feel. I wore this to work and the scent was still faintly lingering on my skin after eight hours, impressive! The regular bottle retails for $88 CAD which is average when compared to other brands on the same scale.

The dark sister to Saint. A sultry fragrance, the perfect line between spicy & sweet. Top notes include; patchouli, wood & cinnamon. Perfect for someone who wants that warm but spicy fragrance instead of the often overpowering candy floral scent. I was a fan of this but like I said previously I prefer the lighter floral scents. Next time I wear this it's going to be a night out as it really does make you feel bold and edgy.

{I received deluxe samples of each scent for review purposes, ALL thoughts and opinion are my own}

What's your signature fragrance?

{Swatches (left to right) - Lolita, Midi, Oh Put It On, Screenshot, Mother, Melted Peony}

Good morning loves.

I have so many lip products in my collection it's honestly ridiculous.
What can I say though?
Choosing a lip color is my favorite part of my daily routine.

It took me a long time to hop on the Liquid Lipstick band wagon and I'll be honest as much as I like them it won't stop me from buying the original bullet lipsticks. As you can see I don't have very many but none the less I wanted to share my ever growing collection with you.

NYX Liquid Suede in "Stone Fox"

This is the most recent addition to my liquid family. I saw this color everywhere when it first hit the scene. A unique gray shade with blue undertones. On my skin I'd say it leans more towards a khaki looking gray. I'm a sucker for a dark lip and this fits the bills perfectly. I never thought a gray could look so stunning.

Jeffree Star's "Blow Pony"

There is so much drama surrounding Jeffree at any given time but the color selection in his liquid lip collection is absolutely out of this world! These are quite expensive for a Canadian like myself but I would purchase more for the colors alone. Blow Pony is a gorgeous bright lavender, perfect for the summer.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lip in "Outlaw"

This red is S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G. Kat's formula is very drying though I find which is unfortunate because I do love her liquid lipsticks.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in "Soft Lilac"

A muted soft mauve color. This goes well with a lot of different looks making it quite versatile. I'd love to try more of the ABH liquid lipsticks as I've been really into her brand lately. Not to mention all the new releases about to launch, hello Subculture!

Maybelline Color Jolt in "Never Bare"

When I purchased this I had no idea it was an exact color dupe for the Too Faced Melted Lip in Melted Peony so now I have two of the same color. It's not a bad thing though because it's a color I really like. The Maybelline Color Jolts are extremely similar to the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lips in packaging, application and formula. So if you're looking for a cheaper alternative I'd highly recommend checking them out!

Kat Von D "Lolita"

A cult classic. I wrote a whole post about this here.

ColourPop Ultra Matte in "Midi"

The Ultra Matte formula from ColourPop is so drying and it pils off my lips in little balls, not a flattering look. Unfortunately though I'm trying to make it work because I love this soft pink nude. I wouldn't repurchase a ColourPop lippie in the ultra matte formula but would love to try their other formulas.

NYX Liquid Suede in "Oh, Put It On"

A deep purple, so deep it almost looks black. Another dark intimidating color, my favorite. I've yet to actually wear this. Like it's counterpart Stone Fox it was purchased at the same time and I just haven't had the chance to test it.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in "Screenshot"

A lovely deep peach. The satin formula is much nicer on the lips than the ultra mattes.  The peach trend this year has really blown up and I'm not complaining.

Too Faced "Melted Peony"

Like I said before the color jolt is a dead on dupe and I love both.

Kat Von D "Mother"
A bright rose pink. Simple with a twist. Not my favorite color but I'll use it up one of these days.

There we have it, my liquid lipstick collection.

What's your favorite liquid lipstick?

Instagram Round Up #6

Hey loves!

Quick little Instagram round up for you all today {@briannarue} . I love these types of posts and I hope you enjoy them too.

{from top left to bottom right}

The 31 Days of Makeup Challenge - Bold Look. I definitely could have blended it out more but overall I loved the finished look.

Another  31 days of makeup challenge - Glow Up. I went quite light with this look and was really disappointed that the glow didn't transfer to the camera that well. Trust me, there was a lot of glow.

Just a summer selfie. My natural freckles peeking through!

Motivational quote because some days you need one to push through the day.

A red toned eye shadow look I created that I wanted to showcase.

Lastly, a blue look. I don't know why everyone hates on blue eye shadow so much. I've loved every look I've done using different hues of blue.

If you have Instagram, drop your usernames below and give me a follow at @briannarue

Summer 2017 - Bucket List

I absolutely live for summer. It's by far my favorite season and maybe I'm biased but I also happen to be a summer baby.

To get more out of this summer I wanted to create a bucket list. I don't know what it is but it seems that when I write down the things I want to accomplish I'm more likely to do so.

On to the list;

Spend a day at the lake

Go to one of the National Parks {albeit them being insane this year due to Canada's 150th Birthday}

Hike a mountain summit

Go camping - I've already done this but I'd still love to go on many more camping trips

Hit up a theme park

Road Trips {I love nothing more than a good road trip honestly, I usually end up in B.C.}

Concerts {OneRepublic in August!}

Try white water rafting!

Go kayaking

Try getting through some of the many unread books piling up on my book shelf

Water balloon fight {I haven't done one of these since childhood but I still think it would be such a fun time as an adult}

Make a truck bed and star gaze

Go skinny dipping...at night.

Eat at as many new restaurants as possible

Go for ice cream {surprisingly easy but I never actually go out for ice cream}

There you have it, my summer bucket list!

What are you hoping to accomplish this summer?

* Spring Vibes Vox Box

 {all the above products were received free from Influenster, HOWEVER all opinions are my own}

If you don't know about Influenster you can sign up here.
 It's a site where you connect all your social media accounts then review products, ask questions and take pictures. Of course the higher your social influence the greater chance you have of being selected for one of the many free vox boxes they send out through out the year.
I love the concept and I've been fortunate enough to receive quite a few vox boxes in my time as a member.

The Spring Vibes Vox Box has had the largest amount of products in one box that I've ever received .

I loved the imPress Nails, they were my favorite item in the box.  I've already written an in depth review here.

The newly released Nivea Q10 Firming Body oil didn't blow my mind. I've been using it for a few weeks and have seen no improvement in the firmness of my skin. It does sink into the skin leaving you with moisturized, touchable softness though.

The Annie's kraft dinner was surprisngly delicious and organic to boot. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a mac and cheese snob meaning it's rare if I try anything or buy anything other than the KRAFT, K.D. but this surprised me.

So, the Arm & Hammer coupon was meant to be used for something completely different than the product I bought....but I swear I didn't realize! Moving on.....

Nescafe Instant Coffee Packs
By no means am I a coffee drinker so naturally I opted to try the French Vanilla one which was great & easy! I proceeded to leave my other packets unopened but my boyfriend tried them so I asked his opinion and he told me good. Now, that doesn't sound like a great review but this man hates any coffee that's not Tim Horton's so it's actually shocking to hear him say that instant coffee was GOOD? Good work Nestle.

Ebates & Popsockets
I'll be honest here, I hated the pop socket I really didn't see a purpose for it.
I love using Ebates when shopping at retailers like Sephora because you get cash back and for the makeup obsessive who doesn't want to earn cash back while shopping for your favorite things?

Quaker Harvest Fruit & Nut Bar
10/10 I would buy a box of these. They provide me with a much healthier alternative than my beloved caramel nut bars...that are dipped in chocolate.

Thanks Influenster & all the other companies who provide us with these awesome opportunities!
